Work and Play

Things are never boring here at the farm, and there is always plenty to do. Here's a partial list of things that will be available to you for your WWOOF work and for after-hours play. You will be taught to do any work you don't already know how to do, and in most cases, we'll be working right alongside you.

Things you might be doing for your work:
Weeding
Irrigating
Harvesting
Selling at a Farmers Market
Kitchen clean up duty
Staffing the U-Pick
Updating our blog
Helping to cook
Building or fixing fences
Scaring deer out of the corn
Improving the WWOOFer campground
Improving paths and signage
Building or improving outbuildings including greenhouses, chicken coops, solar showers, or outdoor kitchens

Things you might want to do after work:
Take a nap in your tent or in the hammock
Go for a hike up the canyon
Drive or bike to a nearby lake
Float around Lake Carisa (our pond) in our rowboat the SS Minnow
Practice yoga
Hang out by the creek reading your own books or books from our library
Make some art
Soak in the natural hot springs at the end of the road
Imagine a world without hunger
Check out our extensive DVD collection
Stroll through town and meet some of the locals, including horses, cows, sheep, goats, and people
Visit our resident miniature donkey, Frankie
Meditate
